"Kitten update & drama"
"Hiii this is the update for my new kitties!!
Recap:
So to sum it up, 1 year ago I found kittens in a ditch. One of the kittens went to this lady. Fast forward to 3 days ago, lady calls me and says she really needs me to take her back because she had kittens and she will get kicked out of her house. So I took mama and babies. She told me they were old enough to find homes, turns out they’re barely 3 weeks old! Mama is extremely underweight, never went to the vet, never was held or pet. Makes me so so sad because I thought she was going to a good home when I should’ve just kept her. She got pregnant because the lady adopted a male cat, when neither were fixed. I also found out she already gave away one of the kittens.
Anyway, before I knew the kittens were too tiny I had made posts looking for homes. I quickly found homes, people I have mutual friends with/go to my college. Well, upon telling them that I apologize but they have to wait until the kitten are old enough, one guy proceeded to tell me “I don’t care, I want it as young as possible, the younger the better. if you don’t give her to me tomorrow I’ll find one somewhere else” :/ so I blocked him, that was insanely weird.
Well, kitties are doing very good. Mama is learning what it’s like to have such a good home. She is very unbothered, she just flops at the dog and bunny and doesn’t care at all about them. She likes to lay with me, lay on the couch, explore. It’s very cute. We bought her a bunch of treats and toys this morning ☺️
Sorry for the long post! But there’s the update"

It's very hard to understand people who adopt a pet only to disregard them, so much so that they never think of the consequences of having non-fixed cats at home, a male and a female. How thoughtless can one be? Just a literal lack of thoughts. If this lady knew she couldn't have kittens in the place, why would she adopt and then not fix her male and female cats? What did she think was going to happen? It's not like there's a “stork delivers baby” cat equivalent - the kittens are there, whether you're ready or not.
Any pet pawrent out there can definitely understand our lack of understanding. Really, it's baffling to think about how a person can be that inconsiderate of their own adopted animals. Pets are not just shelf decor - they are living, breathing, thinking, and feeling beings. And treating them as anything less grants you a thousand red flags as a person in our books.
We're just glad to know Mrs. Mama and her kitties are doing well.

"Sounds like that motherf****r intends to feed the kitten to a snake.
Get mama some kitten food as soon as possible, she needs the extra nutrients."

"Yes that was such a red flag.
Kitten kibble or wet food, or both? I’ve been giving her normal wet food because I have a lot of it. Also what brands do you recommend?"

“I fed my (now 1 yo) Monster fancy feast wet kitten food. He refused to eat dry. Even still the little guy drinks so much water! My daughter’s kitty had 7 kittens. She fed the same with kitten chow. Mama will need LOTS of water!”

"Yes mama has been drinking sooo much water! And omg, 7 kittens is a lot! 😳"

“Ugh, thank you for blocking that creepy guy. He does sound suspiciously like someone who’d feed the poor kitty to his snakes or use her for bait for dogfights. Hope he doesn’t find any kittens within a thousand miles!”
kittyydotcom
“So so sad!! I don’t even want to think about what would have happened had I gave one to him. Poor babies. I’d rather keep them all 😩”
LoveKittycats119
“I never even thought of that but apparently it happens; Nextdoor seems to have a lot of people searching for homes for their kittens and neighbors are always warning them to charge a rehoming fee for that reason.”

“Glad you’re able to take them and care for them. Thank you for doing that! I know it’s a lot of work. Only advice- Make sure they all get fixed! Maybe find a place to do them for cheap and then ask to be reimbursed? Or you can partner with a local rescue, they can advise. You don’t want to get another call for one of them. Oh and make sure you tell everyone that you will be following up with a home visit- make them sign a contract. That way you won’t get any weirdos who want to hurt or k*ll them.”
kittyydotcom
“Yes of course! I’m going to get mama fixed as soon as possible and then make sure whoever gets babies is going to get them fixed. And home visits are a great idea, thank you!”
Interrupting-Cow-8
“Oh goodness, thank god she is back with you now! Are you planning on keeping her? Please find the best homes for those little kittens!”
kittyydotcom
“I’m keeping mama. I learned the hard way I should have kept her from the start. I named her Honey, because she’s so lovey. This time I’ll make sure I find the best homes."

“Can you see if you can try and get the other kitten? I hope that one made it. 😰😞 that’s way too young to be separated. S**ks that this person was such a bad pet parent. Thanks for taking her back.”
kittyydotcom
“I’ve been messaging her asking if she can get it for me or at least tell me who has it! But she said no because he already has a home. It makes me so sad!”
AdCapable7558
“Honestly I feel like this person could get reported for neglect”
kittyydotcom
“1000%. Because why do you adopt male and female unfixed cats, and get surprised when they have kittens? And don’t even care for them properly? Mama is so skinny. She didn’t even have a name either, and was never pet or held. It makes me so upset. I really wish I could have the last kitten."
peridotpicacho
"I just googled where to report animal neglect, and it said local animal control or non-emergency police.
I would think it might be helpful to reach out to a local pet rescue because they might have good suggestions about what to do.
They might be able to figure out a way to get the last kitten."
